Contest Rules & Policies:
General Policies:
Everyone is welcome to participate in the Pet Costume Contest! This is an inclusive and family-friendly public event.
- We encourage creativity, fun, and good sportsmanship.
- Please ensure your pet is comfortable in their costume and that it does not restrict movement, vision, or breathing.
- All dogs must be leashed at all times while on-site.
- Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and keeping them under control at all times.
- Aggressive or overly anxious pets may be asked to step aside for safety reasons.
Judging & Contest Fairness:
The contest will be judged by a panel of pre-selected judges who will assess entries based on creativity, presentation, personality, and fit within each category.
Judges’ decisions are final and may not be disputed.
Photography & Media:
By participating in the contest, you grant Epilepsy Toronto and its associated events (including Bark in the Park TO and BuskerFest Toronto) the right to photograph, film, and publish images and footage of you and your pet during the event.
Photos and videos taken during the contest may be used for promotional, fundraising, and marketing purposes in print, digital, and social media formats.
Cause & Registration:
Registration requires a $5 donation per pet participant, which directly supports the programs and services provided by Epilepsy Toronto.
Participants must register in advance via CanadaHelps and check in on site by 2:45 PM at the event to confirm attendance and receive their participation number.
Prize Collection: Winners must collect prizes in person at the end of the contest. Prizes are non-transferable.
Disqualification Protocol: Bark In The Park TO and Epilepsy Toronto reserve the right to disqualify entries that fail to adhere to rules or are inappropriate.
Event Environment:
Bark in the Park TO is a pet-positive celebration hosted by the Toronto International BuskerFest in support of Epilepsy Toronto.
We ask all participants to treat others with kindness and respect (both two-legged and four-legged friends!)
Bark in the Park TO reserves the right to modify or cancel any contest elements in the case of inclement weather, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances.
